The new blood-biomarker challenge for dementia is set out to gather the evidence needed for future implementation of these tests in the NHS. My PhD aim is to make sure these tests are validated in diverse ethnic groups.
I am particularly welcoming individuals who self-identify as coming from South Asian or Black ethnic communities to join my steering group and/or working group. There will be 2 meetings per year (every 6 months) for the duration of my PhD (3 years). The 1st meeting in June.

The Centre for Preventive Neurology brings together an expert team to conduct revolutionary new research into dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson’s Disease.
My PhD is part of a larger study developing and assessing a hearing test to identify patients with dementia before symptoms appear. I aim to assess how well a blood biomarker for Alzheimer’s disease performs in minoritised ethnic groups and understand the acceptability of using this diagnostic method for these communities.

You will be provided with study-related resources. Training & support will be tailored to the group's needs. There will also be an opportunity to be involved in formal (paid) in-person training course to deliver focus groups.
